For me, fiction is where it’s at. Reading has always been a passion of mine, and as a child I loved to escape into a fictional world. As an adult I write to try and recreate those moments of discovery for other young people, the excitement and wonder of an amazing story that takes them so far away from themselves it’s like they’re living another life.
As a three time finalist in the national Writer’s Union of Canada Writing for Children competition, and finalist of their Postcard Competition, I have been working for quite a few years on my short story format, but am now moving on to novel-length projects. I have always been drawn to children’s and young adult literature – long before it became fashionable. I’m currently working on several fiction projects that I hope to have completed before the end of 2014.
